The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL offered by Classic Park was delivered in 1961 to its first owner in sunny California. In the same state, the 1.9 liter four cylinder was owned by the same woman from the early seventies to 2016. Shortly after being imported into the Netherlands, it was purchased by its current owner. Due to its age, the roadster underwent a full restoration, which the necessary components were renovated back to their original state. The original, matching engine – with a mileage of only 73,883 – was revised and adapted for unleaded gasoline. Furthermore, a stainless steel exhaust was fitted, and the chrome work as well as the interior and cotton convertible top were refurbished. The favorable Californian climate left the roadster’s body rust free and solid. Therefore, repainting it with the original ‘Hellblau’ color sufficed in restoring the car to mint condition. In conclusion, no effort nor expense was spared to make the 190 SL run and look as it does today.
